This summer CCIA will host a research symposium on complementary currencies in collaboration with The Institute for Leadership and Sustainability (IFLAS).
Held in London, the symposium will take part over the 6th – 7th July 2014, with limited space for attendees intended for focussed and indepth discussions.

The aim of the symposium is to facilitate and coordinate peer support and collaboration amongst students and institutions involved in academic research in the field of complementary and community currencies. It will be the first London based CC research symposium for PhD and Masters candidates working in the field.

The Institute for Leadership and Sustainability (IFLAS) are a department at Cumbria University developing and conducting engaged scholarship on “sustainable exchange”. They work with partners across Europe including New Economics Foundation, United Nations Non-Governmental Liaison Service (UNNGLS), ESADE, Nyenrode Business University, the Academy of Business and Society (EABIS), the European Sustainability Academy, Community Forge, Transition City Lancaster, and the Lancaster Ethical Small Traders Association.
